in that case he will have to put the t'vs res in the command line ?
but i thought max res was higher then x 768?

Whoop's i'll re type that

Are you using a "hdmi to dvi" cable or "pc in" as your input? When I use pc in on my 42" Plamsma I can only get 800x600 but with a digital connection i get 1024 x 768

Using the pc in, but from the back of the pc i'm using a hdmi to vga dongle. Maybe thats the problem

The HD input on the back of the tv is almost like a mini USB connection, is there a lead out there that would fit my graphics card output to this?

I reckon! Nip down to your electrical store or something and grab a proper dvi to hdmi lead (£15 ish) or a dvi to hdmi dongle (£10 ish). I'm sure that will solve you probs!

To try and get widescreen going, you can do what other people have tried with varying degrees of success.

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com...pic.php?t=6240
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com...pic.php?t=1030
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com...pic.php?t=1079

Anyway, check out http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/t...Specifications Your TV's resolution is 1366x768. So it doesn't matter what cable you use, that's the maximum resolution you'll be able to get with your computer. Your TV may accept other signals but it will scale everything down to that resolution.

Just done some more digging on the samsung site. With the model number you gave its max res is 1366x768 so 1024x768 IS the most you'll be able to achieve. It also says that connecting a pc by the dvi/hdmi is NOT possible on your unit, you will just get a black screen. Sorry if i sent you on a wild goose chase!
