Looking to Buy a Laptop [UK]

I'll let the Q&A do the talking, thanks in advance for any help and advice smile.gif

What is your maximum budget?

What country are you in?

What will be the uses of this laptop?
Mainly work which includes: AutoCAD, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), some 3D modelling programs and rendering.
So I think the main thing is a decent CPU and as much RAM as I can get, also a screen that won't make me cry!

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you?
No, but laptops and I have a chequered history!

What screen size do you require?
15 inch seems the right tradeoff between portability and usablity

What screen resolution do you require?
1080p would be ideal but i realise its more likely going to be 720p

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay?
My preference is for new

How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet)
Not critcal, most work should be done near a powerpoint

What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings?
Gaming is not a priority, the GPU would only really help if it can provide some hardware acceleration for AutoCAD, Photoshop, etc.

What operating system do you need? (if any)
Windows 7/8

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? (aluminum, black, gaming, etc.)
Not too important, backlit keyboards are nice but not essential

How much hard drive space do you need?
1TB would be perfect but if not I can get an external 2.5" drive

Do you need any special hardware? (blue ray, webcam, specialty ports, etc.)
Nothing that would sway me over the primary performance.

Is there anything else we need to know?
Looking to buy fairly soon
