GA-990FXA-UD5 has Marvell 88SE9172 what alternative for better SSD read/write?

Greetings,
I have a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 and unfortunately the onboard SATA controllers are the Marvel 88SE9172 which has, based on what I have read, poor performances. I need an SSD drive that has the maximum read/write speed so what are my choices other than replacing my brand new mobo! rolleyes.gif

Thanks in advance!

Your mobo has 6 native AMD chipset SATA 6Gb/s ports and only 2 Marvell SATA 6Gb/s ports.

As for SSD, the Samsung evo is usually cheap and reliable.

Ok so the native ports are much better than the Marvell's right?
Is it true that the EVO is less reliable than the Pro?
