[Build Log] Green Waffles (Corsair 650D) - Page 7

To answer your question a while back about airflow, radiators seem to perform the best if they are set to intake. Keeps vrm and stuff up higher but your CPU will be colder. It might be issues if your SLI setup is on air. Something to think about. Love the cake pan and everything else so far looks great! thumb.gif

I'm pretty excited about this one, I've been trying to figure out how I can make a backplate for awhile now! This happened to pop up on my eBay home page, and it was only $10!! I will use this as a template to make an acrylic version for my other card. That should be here by this weekend!

Just figured I would share my excitement!

Matt

Keep your eye out for a backplate for a EVGA gtx 560 ti 448 cores FTW. I've been looking for one for a while now. I'd be amazed if you found one. I've thought about making one, but my toolbox isn't even close to being ready for that. BTW those 460s should do you very well for a while, I'll say AT LEAST until DX12

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it! Yeah, my cards are still running on air until I decide to go with a custom loop for the build. But that will have to wait until I get some new cards.

The sabertooth goes really wicked with this build.
But one minor thingy, what about the GTX460 blue/purple sticker on the gpu's? It's just a small touch though..

Amazing build anyways so far smile.gif

Thanks! I appreciate it! That was actually one of the things I did today on my lunch at work was mock up new stickers to go over the current ones, it would really bother me if I didn't put something over them! Here's what I came up with:

I was thinking about just printing them over the matte black vinyl that I already have. I am not sure if this is possible or easy to do as I have never done anything like this before. The background that I had set was transparent but I threw a black background on it real quick to make the image, so the lines aren't as clean looking as they actually are.

Nice, yeah printing it over a black vinyl would be good. But make sure the color tone comes as intended(especially with the black background).
If it doesn't come out good, put the black vinyl on the whole front side of the gpu, not just the part where the gtx 460 sticker is.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I was actually contemplating putting the EVGA logo in green to the left of the logo with a piece of matte vinyl that spans to the other side of the card to get rid of the shiny black that is there. I just have to find somewhere to either get the stickers printed or get them printed on vinyl. I doubt my inkjet printer would work on vinyl and/or look too great haha.

That's gonna be a little issue. I don't think a standard printer will do the job. You could put the plain black vinyl on the gpu's now(without the green logo) , and make a green evga sticker later on. Someone mentioning a special sticker printer, this one: http://www.silhouetteamerica.com/. You can try that, but it depends on your budget now. This one is tuffy hmmsmiley02.gif

Yeah, I'll either just do that or find somewhere locally that can do it.

Oh man! That would be awesome if you can find the link for that. Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Everywhere online wants to sell them in quantities of 50, and I need a grand total of four decals haha.
