I will most likely end up going with just a straight white light. I like how clean the white light makes everything look, but since I have the NZXT Hue I can change that and play around with different colors! But I do agree that the green light would just make everything turn into one green mass and take away from the contrast that I love so much. Originally I was planning on using UV Cold Cathodes to light the case, but I have since moved away from that idea.

This is what I have heard from several different people. I'm really hoping that they perform to even close to the level that people say they do!

Thanks for joining the party, I appreciate the compliments! I too felt your pain with the 650D. When I started this I was semi-hoping that it would turn out looking like absolute crap so I could justify getting a 750-800D haha, but I am much more happy with the way this is turning out!

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
EDIT: waffles said I could post this here, and I want to thank him for telling me the paint he used. It turned out perfect!

They'll be more updates on my log in my sig if you want to see what else I have planned for this puppy!

Not a problem! The case looks great, glad the paint worked for ya!

Update:

Well I was going to wait until the morning to post this but I was far too excited about how this turned out!

SSD Mount measured out

Cut!

Testing for how they will fit

Cut!

Be sure to take the rubber ends off the clamps first haha, they melt rather easily. Ask me how I know!

Bent it backwards without thinking about it but oh well, Ill make it work!

And there it is! I'm real happy with how this turned out!! Time for some black paint!

Meant to take a picture this morning and post this, but here is the back of the case with the brackets painted. Looks much better!

And the HTPC setup with the new amp!

Let me know what you think!

Yes i agree, but i didn't mean brightest setting of green lights, just some ambient green dots in the case would be nice. Like this one(it's from pbaines here on ocn):

White is also nice, but i usually don't like the white effect on the black parts.

That looks really nice. I ordered some white cathodes just in case, I'll have to play with the lighting a bit for sure!

Why don't you use the NZXT HUE? Every color then huh...

I will be, I ordered the cathodes just in case the HUE wasn't bright enough, plus they were only $8 for 2x12" so I couldn't pass it up. If it is bright enough then I will be throwing the cathodes in the build that I will be starting after this one.

It really wasn't hard at all. I actually think it would be harder to work with something that was thinner. I was able to cut it with a jigsaw without any problems.

Update-

Painted black and SSDs set on there just to check it out

Placed in case to make sure everything looks good before mounting the SSDs

A little velcro ought to do the trick, makes for easy removal if need be and since SSDs don't move or really get hot it should hold just fine.

Ready for the SSDs

I am really happy with the way that this looks! It turned out just like I hoped it would!

Haven't had a ton of time to do anything with it this week, but I am planning on putting a couple hours in tonight so I should have some progress tomorrow too!

It looks really good man!Definitely better than putting them with velcro on the back of the mobo tray..They say out of sight, out of mind, but when they look so good,I,too, would want to look at them constantly!!Proper eye candy thumb.gif this is OCN afterall

Forgive the probably stupid question but...were you planning on putting grommets in the cable routing holes?

I had wondered about the stripe pattern you had used for the SLI bridge, thinking a symmetrical vertical pattern would have looked better but, after seeing the SSDs in place, I now "get it". That was well planned out in advanced.

Some people had suggested that you should have also painted the MOBO tray green but methinks that might be overkill; doing so might take the green from a role of accents to predominance, making the green less striking. So far, you have achieved an excellent color balance.
