[NZXT] NZXT Teasing new case - Page 19

I will be buying one of these to replace my 650D been wanting a new case. Can't decide black/red or white/black yet. I like the red but don't want another mainly black case again. Would love a white/red.

Gunmetal! biggrin.gif

I pulled the trigger on my Switch before the Gunmetal one was announced and I am still kicking myself.

Very nice looking case! Definitely appealing from a watercooling-in-something-other-than-extra-large-case perspective.

Have the concerns with the H630 (namely cooling) been addressed in the H440? I believe the primary culprit was the size of the vents, which severely restricted intake airflow. It does look like the top and front vents are a bit bigger, so hopefully when reviews hit we'll see the high-end machines cooled as they ought to be.

It also looks like it can support a high-end Tri-fire/SLI system. Lots of clearance for longer PSUs, 360+240 rad space should cover cooling needs, res & pump can go down below in the PSU chamber or between the GPUs and window for visibility... yeah, I'd like to see someone rock an x79 + Tri-fire/SLI watercooled system in this case.

First things first. I like it. I like it a lot.

That being said I do thing there are a few things that could use some tweaking.

First and simplest. Thous SSD mounts are just screaming to have some sort of trim piece when not in use. A simple little piece of plastic that can be put in instead of the cage would be all it takes. They are really nice looking when in use but if you only have 1 or no SSD its looks really off.

The ability to fit a 360 radiator in the front is brilliant. What would be even greater would be if after doing that you sill had some place to stick a HDD. Lets face it most of us can make due with just SSD's. I think there would have been enough room to include a HDD mount somewhere in the bottom or around the PSU.

Then there is the total lack of 5.25 bays. I'm kinda on the fence about this. At one hand I totally get why they where removed. The aesthetics, airflow and general layout is really nice with out them but I even if you don't use opticals there is still other uses for them like fan controllers and bay reservoirs. It would have been nice if there was some way to mount an 5.25 like ripping out one of the front fans and sticking in a 5.25 cage or something. I would't even mind if you could not get to the bays with the front panel on. I just think people like me will have a hard time giving up their 5.25 hardware.

But thees are all minor flaws at best and it is really nice case thumb.gif

Are there any pictures with the H630 or Switch 810 next to the H440?

There is indeed a 3.5/2.5 drive mount where your red box is drawn. wink.gif

I couldn't find any pictures but the Switch 810 is quite a bit bigger then the 440.

Here are the dimensions of the 3 cases:

H440 220mm(W) x 510mm(H) x 475.3mm(D)
H630 245mm(W) x 547mm(H) x 567mm(D)
Switch 810 235mm(W) x 605mm(H) X 577mm(D)

Would have loved this case in a premium version with less plastic and more aluminum, but I guess that won't happen.

Anyways, are there any plans for additional colors and a non window version?

This has caused me to spend more money and redo my build, again. Sending my nanoxia ds1 back when this comes out. When is the expected date it will be orderable on amazon/newegg? Would orders direct through nzxt ship sooner?

Also will aio coolers reach the front fans if mounted to a vid card?
