Trying for that fresh, new, strong, stupidly expensive cooling!

Hey guys! So after deciding I didn't like the temperatures that my 480mm rad and res combo were giving me, I was wondering if one of you guys and gals has any ideas as to how I can make the performance of my pc really shoot up. Obviously since I have a 480mm rad I know what effects the overall temperature in a closed loop, so, that being said, I have been looking the past few days for some more radiators and pumps and reservoirs. I am using a 480mm at the top, I can fit another 480mm at the bottom and another 360 at the other side of the bottom of the case. I am not trying to get another 480mm rad though (they are a big hassle being the size they are, actually.) If you know of some really good 360mm rads that'd be awesome biggrin.gif. The reservoirs I am going to be using are http://koolance.com/tnk-501-single-5-25in-bay-reservoir
for the first res, and a custom koolance 80mm OD 924 ml for the beauty res (dem aesthetics!)
I have no idea what pump I am going to use, sadly. I am looking for a REALLY strong pump ( Doesn't matter how many volts it eats.) Any help would be awesome smile.gif! (Price is no issue, I care for performance, but I don't like wasting money if I don't have to. But if it'll get me 1 degree colder I'll pay more.)

you dont even state what parts you are using in you loop and components you are trying to cool in your loop

For a pump any D5 pump will be good, and for the rad I would look at getting an alphacool XT45mm rad or whatever size fits your needs....

I did completely forget, but the block I'll be using is the EK-Supreme LTX - Acetal+Nickel CSQ and the fittings are all 3/8" - 5/8". Currently I will only be cooling my CPU. But I will be expanding to water cooling two 880's or higher when they get released tongue.gif.

If you can't cooled your current setup with your 480mm radiator, you got problem somewhere is causing it. Adding more radiator is not going to solved your temp problem. You need to find out what is wrong with your setup. . I am using only EX360mm radiator but I use 3 high power Delta fan 5500rpm 252cfm pwm fan that cooled my 3930K @ 5.0Ghz no problem. At 5.0Ghz my temp is getting high. But I am adding 240mm monsta radiator and active cooling of vrm area. But when I am running @4.9Ghz the temp stay right at 80c. Again I don't know what you have for cpu.

It's not getting hot, at 4.9 GHz with my 4930k I can keep it at 71 Degrees maximum, I just prefer to get it cooler. at 5 GHz my cpu doesn't like the temps at goes to 75+ and I don't like that personally tongue.gif. Those fans you have are faster than my current 4800 rpm fans, so I think I'll also invest in getting more fans to my 900d and adding another 4 fans for my 480mm rad. Plus that'll make my ambient temps drop too biggrin.gif!

Actually looking into getting these now, after seeing some reviews they look amazingly powerful compared to your basic corsair sp120 fans.

Adding that much more radiator cooling capacity does not lower temperatures much since you probably are not even near the limits of your current rad. There other place that have thermal resistance.

Also, more fans/rads will not decrease ambient temperatures.

I'd be using those fans he said as exhaust fans, I only have two currently. how else could I be able to cool my CPU / motherboard, would I need a mobo water cooling set-up too then? Or would shortening the distance between the loops lower it or change it at all, I do have a substantial amount of the hose that I don't need at all and just takes up alot of space.

To what end? What are you trying to achieve?
