more performance?

Thread Starter
I would like to know which would make a bigger performance improvement to my system?

A. I have 4 512mb sticks of xms2 performance 800mhz ddr2 cas 5. I was thinking of going to 2 sticks of SLI 1066 OCZ RAM in 2 sticks of 1 gig ( cas 5) each ( later going for 4 gigs as i need it)

A1. what is advantage off SLI memory? yes my MB does support it.

B. I already have 1 xfx geforce 8800 gtx, thinking of getting another, verses plan A

can someone advise me as to which they would do and why?

I would say the ram... There isnt a game out that even pushes the 8800gtx yet.. Good luck tho.

Oh and to your question.. I think your talking about SLI EDITION ram... only gfx cards run in sli. That ram will run in dual channel which is what you want.

No point going with SLi memory, it's just a marketing gimmick.

better off to get some good RAM with Micron D9 chips in.

Well neither of those will improve your performance by a noticeable margin, though 4gigs in the future might, under Vista it definitely will so if you get Vista, then I would get 4 1gig sticks at the same time.
