The Blackbox - 7850k Kaveri Build - Page 2

I've also wondered about GPU for my build and I've picked 3 candidates: R7790, R7260X and GTX 650 Ti.

http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-R7-260X-vs-Radeon-HD-7790
7790 is a bit older but at the same time cheaper and a few % more powerful than 260X but it has less tdp

The difference between 7790 vs 650Ti is small. 650 Ti is a few % more powerful but has higher tdp (only on paper) and it's more a bit expensive.

Lastly I've picked 7790 650Ti and I plan to buy it very soon. It's the best position for my setup.
Edit: I decided to go with the green powe0. You know, pc is efficient and have to be all green tongue.gif

I finished the build for the most part. The final specs are:

A10 - 7850k Kaveri @ stock speeds for now with turbo on
Powercolor TurboDuo Radeon 270 @ 270x speeds
F2A88XN-WiFi mITX
Roswill V4 mini ATX case with 3 Cooler Master 80mm fans in a negative pressure setup. One intake and two exhaust
Cooler Master hyper 101a with one 80mm PWM fan and one regular 80mm fan
Mushkin Blackline Ridgeback 16GB 2133mhz @ 10 - 12 - 12 - 28
Corsair CX500M PSU
OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD
Hitachi 500GB

Future plans:

Switch out the mITX for a mATX with two PCIe to crossfire 270's @ 270x speeds
Better PSU
2.5" to 3.5" HDD adapter to throw in the other 500GB HDD I have laying around
Desolder blue LED power light and solder in a green power light (most important upgrade wink.gif)
OC the APU

Coke can for reference

With all her nakeness

More nudy shots

I don't have a 1080P TV so she might be running in 720P for Fire Strike but I couldn't find the info on the resolution she was running the benchmark

She's quite loud idle and louder at full load but I'm not complaining right now. It makes sense how loud she is with 8 fans in her. Stable 50C-55C on the APU at full load with turbo to 4.0ghz and 66C-70C on the GPU at 47% fan power.

Did a little overclocking on the CPU today and inverted the fans to a positive pressure setup as the fans pointing to my VRMs and HSF proved to drop temps. I tried 4.4ghz on stock voltage and crashed after booting. 4.3ghz was stable enough to boot into windows and crashed under full load. I tried 42x and was stable enough to run at full load for a few minutes, although further testing needs to be done. So for now, I'm settling with 40x with a 42x turbo. Seems to work fine for now until I dare to turn up the vcore.

Right now the clock speeds are at 4ghz/4.2ghz turbo on the APU and the Radeon 270 is still running at 270x speeds. Ideally I want to run stable Richland clocks on the Kaveri.

Just switched the blue to green today, added fan filters, and turned off APM and turbo with a base clock of 4.2ghz. It's not as bright as it looks but I prefer the green over the blue.
