For Sale:
Z77x-UP7 and "golden" 3770k

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Finally upgraded to Haswell platform and so I am selling off its predecessor. I have a top-of-the-line Gigabyte UP7 board and (for all intents and purposes) a *golden* 3770k. The UP7 was never used for benching (unfortunately), and was only used to play some games. The 3770k has not been frozen in over a year, and has only been running a very mild 4.6GHz. I never had any ColdBug or ColdBootBug using this chip. Most of the benching community who know me, know which chip this is and how well it performs. I used to say I would never sell this, but things change when you are not actively benching and are also scraping by on student loans smile.gif

Intel 3770k (3225B593)
$425 obo SOLD
no lowballs. also, if you're not serious, please don't waste my time
SEE BELOW FOR SCREENSHOTS

Gigabyte GA-Z77x-UP7 Motherboard
$225 SOLD
Has most/all of the original accessories, including manual(s), several SLI bridges, WiFi card and antenna things. SATA cables are spread around and mixed up, they all look the same, so if you need some just let me know and ill throw some in the box for you.

Correct me if am wrong but don't the market rules number 3 state "* The items are sold for your cost price (no profit to be made at all)." So your i7 processor cost you $425?

I don't know if you are wrong, but all I can see is a 3770k @ 6.8Ghz. OP might had to buy 20 of them to get one that overclocks that high, it might be part of the cost smile.gif (Might)

It's a bencher's chip that's why the price mucho high compare to regular chip. His time and money finding/binning in the search of a golden chip
and of course the proof of benchies up there ^^ makes the price to go up smile.gif

Ultimately it's up to the buyer to say "I'll pay a premium to get this tried and tested chip, or I'll pay less might be stuck with a less than great overclocker'

@doritos93, While that SHOULD be the case, OCN does have a Marketplace rule that, while I'm sure it was intended to be helpful, actually results in this type of sale not being allowed, should the mods wish to enforce it.

thanks all
yeah, i guess i havent re-read the FS rules in a few years so im a little out of date. if someone has a problem with it, i will move it over to XS or KPC (which may be a better place for this chip anyways, in terms of market)
thumb.gif

EDIT: oh, and fwiw, before haswell came out and we were all benching ivy, i paid 500-600 for each chip like this.. so believe me, im certainly not making "profit", merely recouping a miniscule portion of the huge sums of money dumped into the hobby smile.gif

Michael, if you paid in excess of our asking price for this chip then you are in compliance with the rules. The rules, while intended to prevent gouging, are such that in many cases in restricts the sales of truly exceptional hardware and forces the OCN member to list it elsewhere, such as XS, in order to get fair value. The net effect is, in my opinion, of limiting the access to golden parts for those OCN members that don't belong to other sites.

P/s: As much as it eats at me for this old Gator to say it, especially with the season that we just went thru...congrats to your 'Noles on your NC season. smile.gif

I personally am aware of him paying a premium for the chip.
