Do you suffer from the BF4 memory leak issue? - Page 5

I agree with you, and its not that im defending EA - im defending peoples notions of what constitutes a "show stopper" bug that should delay a release.

Skyrim for example, had a similar bug where memory would grow out of control and would make the game unplayable if you played enough hours - problem was, it existed on all platforms - it shouldve been picked up on the consoles as its a static hardware config.

This EA bug afaik only affecks a "small percentage" of PCs, at random - so i can see why it wasnt a delay causing bug. Is there proof they knew about this before hand?
The thing is it's not even EA it's DICE EA made an announcement to DICE in December to fix all the serious bugs of BF4 or no more projects until fixed programed and developed by DICE, EA is the distributor or publisher not the creators, programers or makers however you want to word that. Just like a record company is a record company not the actual artist/band/musician.

Just now got booted from the server I was playing on. No idea why but I suspect its the memory leak. Sent PM to the OP yet have heard nothing back.

Saw this thread linked on the official BF4 forums in the memory leak thread on there. Also experiencing this problem on a new build. Happy to help out. Also PM'ed OP yesterday, but nothing yet. Only thing that seems to solve the issue for me is running it in Windows 7 compatibility mode (I'm on Win 8.1 x64).

FYI patch released today that claims to fix this does not fix it. Same issue once I turn off Windows 7 compatibility mode. Give it a few map changes and memory usage shoots up.

Yes, I too experienced the same issue. As well as stuttering while playing. Happens at random.

But I'm not sure if mine is a memory leak issue or a complete different issue (Other users reported it here, with 290 CFX, because it ONLY happens with CrossfireX enabled, at least for me (Or in Windowed mode which only uses 1 card).

Is this the issue you guys are looking for?

I may have suffered my first memory leak last night (after the patch) - after a couple hours and maybe 4 map changes the game crawled to a halt (10-15fps) in Hainan Resort.

Specs:

Windows 8
i7 2600k@4.7Ghz
R9 290X@1170/1500 (13.11 Beta 9.5)
16GB Ram
240GB Sata3 Sandisk SSD

Not suire if it was the memory leak cuz the bf4.exe was at around 1.5GB and i didnt see any "unused" memory in task manager. I will have to monitor it.

Don't wanna read the whole page, but is this about ram or vram leaks? My buddy had ram leaks on BF4 and he solved it by using the x86 version of BF4. I believe he has a 6950+I5 4670k.
