Help me find a SFF case/rig

post #1 of 14
Thread Starter
Hi.

Am contemplating a mobo/RAM upgrade, and will probably go with an mITX/mATX board in order to facilitate a sidegrade when I've found an idea SFF case. Here are the criteria I'm working with:

* Full length GPU
* Either full size PSU _or_ a decent pre-config PSU capable of supporting a 2x8pin PCI GPU
* Slots for 2 3.5" drives
* Slots for 1 or more SSDs
* Decent airflow and dust filtering
* Window far less important than good airflow and decent acoustics

Can you guys suggest any of them? I've been eyeing the prodigy/M recently, but the reviews weren't dazzling.

250D seems to fit the bill - better engineering than the prodigy and slightly smaller too. Hrrrrm.

Out of curiosity, what's a good mITX board which doesn't give up too much performance for the form factor? The mITX market was awful last I checked, but I've heard there are some reasonably priced boards which do some amazing things.

all? mitx does not sacrifice peformance. if features you want then the asus maximus impact is about as good as it gets

as for case choices there are the fractal node and coolermaster elite 120/130 just to throw in a few more options rather then something "slightly" smaller then the oversized prodigy

Mmm.

What's a good budget to midrange mITX which supports OC'ing of the CPU? The designations of mITX boards baffles me a bit... biggrin.gif

This.

If you want the most highend though, that's the Asus Maximus Impact.

The Asus Deluxe itx is also the maximus without the ROG color scheme and branding wink.gif

Hrm.

It's a good £50 more expensive than a comparable ATX board though - is there nothing worth buying in the sub-£100 range which still has a decent featureset and supports OC'ing?
