There's nowhere locally where I live that stocks fittings and tubing, etc.

Duty charges importing from America from Frozen CPU killed me last time. I try to avoid that now.

As convenient as his store may be... I'll never be ordering from him again. I would much prefer to deal with Performance PC's and skip any potential nightmare scenarios that may arise from dealing with Daz.

For what it's worth I never get hit with major duty/brokerage/customs fees from Performance PC's... every single order I've placed with them has only been charged HST (which you will be charged no matter which courier you use) and then a modest $10 brokerage fee -- even on a $1700 order. I use FedEx Express shipping during the checkout. I have yet to take the plunge with FrozenCPU as their only international shipping options are either USPS or UPS.

Check your PM for the Daz story....

Speculating isn't fair to someone new on the forum or random internet users who will come across this thread. Performance-PC's will most likely have 80% items cheaper than other sites. Also, you can't bash performance pc's then just exclude every issue frozencpu has had.

I had ordered 100 fans on both sites and tested shipping to the same country and in no way was performance pc's just GOUGING the shipping prices to "get you on the shipping"

I myself try to be fair and not go in threads like this and mention how I bought something from frozencpu which was stated to be refundable through their policy in which they kept denying me the refund, or even posting about how others did to.
These places sell tens of thousands of items and go through countless orders daily, don't think both of them are perfect and don't think they don't make any mistakes.

I tried to make that thread last so people could share experiences like this. Sure it sucks this happened to OP, but he's mad at performance-pc's for selling what Phobya passed down as acceptable

I see nothing in this that is actually PPC fault. The OP was shipped a unopened Phobya Reservoir that was in bad shape. I don't see how this is anyone's fault but the manufacture?? The Shipping charge is UPS's fault.

Yeah frown.gif
Just sucks when someone encounters a bad item.
Makes it worse when the thread has people taking stabs at performance-pc's like they are a terrible company. Same amount of problems can be found with other companies.

I wish there were some reputable stores in Canada to buy these types of items -- would sure make things a lot easier.

Let's open one! We'll call it.... dazmode:thumb:

If that was gold I would have tried simply to polish it.

What do you think KAY's would look like if no one polished that stuff out of the crates?

Definitely wouldn't look as awful as that res.

Maybe you should ask them if you can see something that hanst been opened yet. I've opened boxes of jewelry that are untouched for YEARS and look way worse than that res, and it usually polishes right off.

I dont see scratches or anything, What I see is the ring marks from o-rings, lines from the flow of water from the ports, and outlines of finger prints.

When they leak test it they do it by pressure drop, not by watching water come out so they dont care if the product is wet before boxing.

srsly, try simple polish, I bet will look amazing!

Edit:

I put OPS blurry pictures on my TV so I can get a bigger glimpse. I see like 3 marks that are starting to look more like Brass than gold.

Here's hoping not!

it's not a speculation. it's widely known fact. i am not going to go search for every thread now just to prove it to you. but i've read it countless times on this particular forum, including myself that the shipping cost is way more than you would get from Sidewinder, Xoxide or Frozen. some users even mentioned that the shipping cost stamped on the box is way less than what was charged. it's not a speculation. it's fact. it doesn't mean they don't carry good products. that's an separate issue. but for a consumer shopping for the best price, they sure overcharge on shipping. are they cheaper than OTHER sites? sure, they're cheaper than newegg, or SVC, or some other commonly known sites. but strictly speaking, when one talks about performance PC, one usually cross shop between all the specialty shops like Xoxide, Frozen, and Sidewinder. and in comparison, PPCS does overcharge on shipping. i also DID NOT exclude all the things FrozenCPU are bad for. if you read my post again, i clearly stated that they're just "plain expensive" place to shop at. which is why they're the LAST place i go to, second last is PPCS. my first place is usually sidewinder, they usually have the best price amongst all the specialty shops i mentioned above, but also the smallest inventory. if you can find what you need at Sidewinder, you're golden. if not, you might have to pay more at Frozen or PPCS, or Xoxide. i recently spent hundreds on watercooling component upgrades after my old parts started failing on me, and i've cross shoped. so my experience is VERY recent, and very up to date. and the fact speaks for itself. this is meant to inform other users who come across this forum so that they know what they're getting into. i also did not exclude Coolerguys, i think i mentioned in a previous post that they just plain sucks. and i'll say it again that they screwed me over an order few years ago, never shipped it out, and never responded to my contacts. i've since never shopped there again.

You do realize that shipping prices vary on where they are shipping from. Of course the further they have to ship the more expensive shipping will be. Example, I'm only a few hours from sidewinder so their shipping is obviously cheaper than shipping from PPCs. And it depends on what the shipper insures the package for. Then there are also shipping discounts for having business shipping accpounts. I know this first hand dealing with shipping items on a daily basis at work. I have placed roughly 20 orders from PPCs and have never been "gauged" on shipping from them like you claim. I agree with HULK. Just because someone has a bad experience with a certain company doesn't mean that it'll be that way with everyone. Everyone makes mistakes.
