Well literally 5 minutes ago my dad told me a work friend said he had a wii for sale..and now im gonna think about getting it...eventually I want to get a console but not sure which one. I definitely dont want the PS3, but the xbox seems good. But, if i buy an xbox its gonna end up being $500+ after games and stuff. I have $800 now but im trying to keep it for the stuff in my sig.

so basically...if this guy wants $300, do you think i sohuld get it? Ive never played zelda and dont know if i'd like it. I know i'd want madden and red steel looks ok too.....

What do you guys think i should do? Ask about the wii or wait?
cant complain..

Ohh, hard decision. Ill be honest with you here, I played red steel and have to admit I was not impressed at all. The controls felt very floaty, and the graphics were rather ugly. On the other hand, I have and love Zelda, the graphics are a step above red steel (I would compare them to first gen 360, or maybe last gen xbox) and the controls are spot on, very tight. The wiimotes really do add an extra dimension into the game when the controls are responsive. Wii sports is alot of fun too, I think I have sunk an equal amount of time in that game with my family and friend as I have in zelda. I personally love my Wii, and 300 is not a bad deal at all. I say go for it, it is my OPINION that the Wii is poised to either come in first or second this generation of consoles. And to be honest, you can always get an xbox360 later, which would be wise because of the rumored HDCP support and the confirmed 65nm die shrink!

The XBOX 360 is a nice Console however as you said will cost a little after a while. However with the Wii being the price it is you can pick one up and get rather a few games and bits and bobs within your Budget. Wii may not be nextgen Graphics but the fun factor is way up there.

I say wait. Unless the guy is including something for the $300, just wait for Wiis to become available. Personally, I wouldn't pay $50 extra just because it's out of stock everywhere, especially if it's used.

I'd rather wait a bit and pay normal price. That extra $50 will get you a game, another wiimote, etc. Not to mention you'll be getting a new Wii. That's just me.

Of course, I also vote for a 360 but that's because it has games I want. Judge for yourself.

Well, have you played call of duty 3? Now that i realize COD3 is available for hte Wii i think i rather have that than red steel. What I would buy it for would be the fun factor, since i'm tired of sinking money into my pc. The xbox seems so tempting since either one will be played on a 50" HD plasma. Anyway, thank you for your opinion.

Yeah the Wii definitely has some freebies like Wii sports, and the wireless internet built in. The adapter for the xbox is $100, which I would buy eventually. Thanks for your opinion.

I do see where your coming from, but $300 is a guess. Oh and BTW, AFAIK, this Wii is brand new...just an extra for some reason. My dad has known this guy for awhile, and I think he might just be trying to get rid of it..so $250 may be possible...but at this moment I think i maybe thinking to prematurely. I do play alot of sports games...so the 360 has a def. plus there....thanks alot..

Anyone else?

It's up to you man. Though I have to say, the Wii is VERY addicting. It's not a question of IF you will be addicted. The real question is, how long you're going to be addicted to it. I haven't played Red Steel nor Madden but Zelda is VERY good. Also, Wii Sports, which comes with the console, is great.
