Did you reset your cmos? I would recommend not to use amd overdrive for more than monitoring temps, it can really mess up your system.

The freezing has now stoped for a unknown reason. (Possibly windows updates that i just installed)
Now alot of people suggested overclocking. I am a noob when it comes to this type of stuff.
I would like to overclock my system so can i ask how much of a overclock i can get with The Rosewill z1 Cpu cooler and the MSI 970A-G46 MoBo?
As of now it is at stock frequency (3.3ghz) and stays around 29 Degrees Celcius.

That's honestly not much better than a stock cooler, but it's also not a hot chip. Is that 29 C at idle or load? long as you can stay below 60 C (62 C is the max safe operating temp for that chip) after a load test like prime 95, temps are fine thumb.gif

Your board is more than fine for overclocking that chip actually thumb.gif and is that 31C after a minute or a few hours? a longer test will give you more accurate results

edit: looked at reviews of your board, update your bios if you aren't on the latest. it looks like the earlier bios revisions for that board are full of issues

I downloaded the MSI update utility and there was no bios update but there was a chipset update.
What kind of problem could a outdated Chipset driver cause?

I just saw some people claim about instability issues on the old bios. chances are you have the new bios already, so you are in the green thumb.gif

just clear your cmos and be cautious. try in small increments, and put caution before anything.
