Phanteks PH-TC14PE: My Y-Splitter doesn't fit the PWM Adapter?

I've gotta be missing something here. The Y-splitter that came with my Phanteks PH-TC14PE is 4-pinned and thus cannot connect to the PWM adapter that is supplied because it is 3-pinned. What? I tried to do as the manual says, which is to connect the two fans to the Y-splitter and connect the Y-splitter to the PWM adapter then connect the PWM adapter to the mobo header, but the Y-splitter itself is 4-pinned so I can't use the PWM adapter so my fans are constantly running at full speed.

........really what am I missing. I know there are a lot of people who have bought this cooler around the same time as me. Is everyone else getting a 4-pin Y-splitter (white sleeved) that cannot be attached to the supplied PWM adapter?

As you can see, Phanteks Corporation, I cannot jam 4 pins into 3, so I question why you ask me to do so in the installation manual.

On the bright side, this configuration of cables still allows you to make a noose for your ear when it wants to commit suicide from fan noise that shouldn't be this loud because it should be able to be controlled via PWM.

Assuming the fans are 3pin fans? Phanteks has two PH-F140HP fans.. older ones are 3-pin variable voltage and use adapter. New ones are real PWM 4-pin and don't need PWM adapter.

If you have 4-pin fans use only the splitter between motherboard CPU fan header and fans.

If you have 3-pin fans cut the side out of 3-pin socket on PWM adapter so the 4-pin will plug in.
As you look into 3-pin socket with slots up it's the left side that you need to cut out. You can see the slot on right side of socket. The left side of socket is cut out so the PWM part of plug will fit. Normally this is a blue wire.

I've used a good pair of side cutters to do this.

No problem.
Thanks for the rep.
So are your fans 3pin or 4pin?

Yessir, and to answer your previous question, they're 3 pin fans.
