Sata cable daisy chain just too short :(

Has anyone had a problem of Sata cables being too short? I have an SSD, a HDD and my DVD Drive running off one Sata daisy chain. I also have another for my H100i.

If I put the SSD and the HDD in the upper bays then I have no problem connecting all three to the one cable, but I want to improve my airflow by removing unnecessary bits and bobs such as an empty drive bay.

This would mean having my SSD and my HDD in the lower drive bay and removing the upper drive bay.
The problem with this is that my Sata daisy chain doesn't stretch that far frown.gif

Just hook up another cable you say? I'm really not a fan of using cables when there are free plugs on an existing cable.

My brother thinks I'm crazy, but I really want to get some custom cables made up, exactly to size. Has anyone else ever wanted this?

You can get sata extension cables, braided ones that look nice too.
Edit: ones like this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-027-NX&groupid=1929&catid=2221

I find it odd that you can't get the cables of an HX850 to reach anywhere you want in a 600T, didn't realise those cases were that big.

Ah extensions would work nicely, thank you.

My problem is that the link between the chains are too short, so when I plug the first 2 Sata plugs into my SSD and my HDD, the third and final plug wont reach to the DVD drive. Made a quick image to explain what I mean.

So in the top image, if I have the drives where I want them (in the bottom drive bay) then the 3rd plug on the daisy wont reach the DVD drive. So I have to use another Sata cable to get the DVD drive to operate.
In the bottom image, if I have the drives in the top bay, then the cable reaches, but I have to have an empty drive bay blocking airflow.

I'm probably being really nit picky, but Im a perfectionist (with a bit of OCD) and everything has perfect thumb.gif
