Hi all! I'm Mr. Biology, a reformed IT guy-gone-scientist living in northern California. I've been a PC enthusiast for many years, but due to budgetary constraints I've been limited in what I've been able to do for most of that time, and stuck in Dell hell for the last 5 years on top of that due to the need to be highly mobile.

That said, the job is going well, tax season looks like it's going to be good for me. I'm happy to say that I've eliminated enough of the crushing debt that comes with 7 years of school that I'm comfortable taking up the crushing debt that comes with blowing out your budget on a sweet sweet gaming rig.

(Just kidding. I would never advocate financial irresponsibility when it comes to your hobbies. At least, not where Mrs. Biology might see it. Unless it was awesome.)

In any case, the time has come for me to get back into building. Mrs. Biology has bespoken that she's tired of her underpowered laptop, and has agreed that if I help her build a new gaming rig that I can put together one of my own and she'll only roll her eyes a little when I carry on.

It's been ~10 years since I last built a computer.

The last thing I overclocked was my trusty Celeron 300A.

I've never water cooled.

I've been missing out, and I have a reasonable amount of cash to burn for the first time in ever.

What could possibly go wrong?
