"Overclocking Failed" on first Bootup! Second Bootup is good

Hey guys. I've overclocked my cpu to 4.8ghz and it seems stable but it's obviously not. Ive ran all sorts of tests from 12hr Aida64 testing, LinX, and Hyper Pi and it passed them all. But when i boot my computer for the first time every day i get the F1 "overclocking failed" error. I boot again and it boots to windows np and i never get a bsod.
I have also overclocked my Ram to its rated speeds 2133 etc..

Seems like cpu instability to me but its just weird how things are playing out.

Thanks!

Having the exact same issue. Have you found the solution to it yet?

I had a similar problem with my 920, never figured it out. I will get an overclock failed unless I turn my system on within 1-10 minutes of turning on my power supply. If it's longer than that, the overclock will fail, and I'll have to resave the overclock in the bios. It will then boot normally. At stock clocks it works fine, but any OC or even Turbo mode will cause the problem. Once in Windows it is perfect stable.

Have you changed anything to make it work? Such as replacing motherboard

Nope. I just got used to it. My guess was that it was a bad mobo, but I didn't want to deal with the process of an RMA. I made a thread on here years ago when I first had the problem and never got any solution.

Yeah, just lowered my clock to 4.6ghz with a lower voltage. This is the clock I had before, and it's working fine.
So weird.
