CaseLabs announces the Mercury S8! - Page 16

Hoping that the 360 rad in the HDD-chamber is ment to be vertically mounted with a dropin and a mesh/windowed side along with it (like you finally released for the S5). Looking at the fan hole @ the bottom of the HDD-chamber I hope my only option isn't to put a 360 along the floor, pushing air with that low clearance or sucking dust from the ground never felt right to me.

I'm guessing the front 240 cutout (over the I/O) is only supporting a rad IF you don't mount a 360 in the roof over the GFX/PCI part of the case? Spacing looks waaay to tight to fit both of em.

Not complaining tho, looks great and 3x360 is good enough for me! Added to chart!

Edit:
One thing that bugs me tho, whole of the Mercury line, the mounting of the motherboard tray. Why didn't you put the mid-chassi section and the tray support on the same level? Way it is now it's just way harder to replace the motherboard tray with a light up acrylic plate that would cover the whole section and make a nice light up "floor" with connectors comming out of it!

You just sold this to me, someone who said "I've got enough computer stuff for now", so I'm ALL FOR IT!

I remember when Rodney 3DGameman was the guy. CL removable motherboard trays would make him go wild. Ronsanut and Daz are good CL fans also.

On another note:

Can the front 2x120 area be converted to a universal mount for a res/pump, solid front panel option?
Can there also be an option to delete the 2x120 fans for a widow? It be pretty cool to mount a res or two behind the window there.

FInally! Been waiting a long time for this. The only thing that bugs me is the I/O panel location (very non-symmetrical), wondering if there is a way to relocate it somewhere and have the option of putting a third fan on the left front panel? wink.gif

Cannot wait for more pictures.

Im sold! But it looks like theres going to be a line for this case, 360 in the side and dual 240s in the front looks like my planned setup for my cpu+780tis
post #157 of 2032
Awesome Jim. I remember the days where the only line of cases were Magnum series! I guess it is time to sell me M10 and Pedestal real cheap to someone who would love to have it and move on to a new one smile.gif I have RIVE Extreme IV Black Ed board sitting here waiting for a case. I was thinking a single wide case but this is making me think of possibilities......

Congrats Jim! Very nice case!

Looks like I'll be picking up this case after I'm done with my S5 build! thumb.gif

I love CaseLabs!

Absolute love that there are now viable horizontally mounted ATX cases now. Any chance you got a larger version in the pipeline that takes 480 rads?

Probably not due to the structural internals of the case. We may offer a kit in the future to move the switches to the 5.25" bays.
