I'm still semi-patiently waking for mine to show up, stills says awaiting fulfillment, ordered mine on 5/24 so almost at 8 weeks now maybe a little more, haven't really counted the calender. I wish this wasn't needed to be also used for business, if it wasn't for business I'd be a bit more patient.

From what I was told in an email, they are running behind a week to a week and a half, I was told this at the end of 7 weeks which is typical wait time for a typical case-sensitive case, right now their main focus is on the bullet line of cases. You are probably going to gave another 2 weeks at least of waiting, as I noted I'm almost at 8 weeks
post #1994 of 2032
Ordered mine at the beginning of this month. The extra wait time actually is helping out a bit as the lead time will give NVidia's shenanigans with their video card releases some time to shake out. Getting back into building after some years of using gaming laptops - very excited to get the case, get some parts ordered and start building!

Question for owners out there, and forgive me if this is the wrong place for this question - has anyone given a go at a horizontal reservoir in the lower left HDD bay? I don't need the drive bays - toying around with using a full window side and putting a Monsoon pump/res combo (MMRS stuff really looks great) down there. It'll either be that or a 360 rad.

Really just worried about aesthetics and whether or not a horizontal res in combination with hard tubing might be a bit much to chew as this is the first water cooling rig I'll be building. At any rate - thanks to all the owners of the S8 here - the info in this thread and the Owners threads have been a big help. Thanks also to KC from CaseLabs for putting up with my multiple configuration changes and questions!

Hey fellow owner waiting in line biggrin.gif

My sentiments exactly, I find it very positive as it forces me to cool down and not just randomly buy parts in a hurry to finish the build wink.gif
while waiting for the case, I'm taking my sweet time to research and figure out which parts I need to purchase for the pump, res, tubes, fittings, T fittings, L fittings, fans, LEDs, valve, blocks, etc, etc, etc...
I've mostly narrow it all down, there are of course still a few "unknown" due missing accurate measurements info between parts, which can only be measured after all the stuff are assembled.

Personally for the Bottom left I went with the 360mm Radiator with the Standard Windows + Went

I too originally wanted both Left and Right doors to be XL windows, this case it's simply beautiful, it's perfect to showcase your parts, also like You I did originally planned to have a long reservoir in the bottom left slot, but in the end I settled for the Res to be on the front window.

You can consider using the bottom right for a shorter reservoir in horizontal, depending on the size of your planned PSU as length might vary.

You'll lose a very nice spot for a XL thick 360 radiator if you use the bottom left for a reservoir, but if you prefer aesthetics over performance, then by all means go with the looks wink.gifbiggrin.gif

I pretty much have the same issue with the reservoir length, that's one of the many unknown I was referencing to earlier. To mount the res in the front window area, I'm missing accurate size info, as it depends on the Radiators + Fans on top of the case, it will also depends if the pumps are connected directly to the reservoir, or if they are separately mounted somewhere else in the loop, and also depends how far down it drops from the case, etc, etc...

That's why until now I've yet to make any final purchase on the reservoir, that will probably be the last part I'll order after everything else is assembled.

PrimoChill they do custom sized reservoirs, I'll probably order from them, if the none of the standard sizes fit my built.

THIS^ for certain! biggrin.gif

I've been going nuts doing research and really wanted to get the order process started, but it's nice to have a bit of a cooling off period while waiting for the case to arrive.

In terms of looks vs. performance, I totally get you. It's one of the reasons I've been struggling to decide what to do in that bottom compartment - I actually have the side mount for the rad as part of my order - will have to change up the windowed option for the left side if I go with the radiator instead of the res down there. What actually swayed me was (and I know there's loads of threads for this elsewhere) the performance of SLI in DX12 - I was going to go with multiple GPUs but now am looking at more than likely a single video card. I figure that a 360 up top (changed to the drop-in/windowed lid) and a 240 in front will be enough for a single CPU and single GPU config. If I do go with SLI, I could get another 240 mounted in the front left (went with ventilated instead of the windowed option).

All that said, believe me, with all the options in this case, there's been a ton of waffling going on smile.gif

So what screws are used for, well, screwing fans into the top spot? I've recently grabbed a group of the new Corsair ML120 Pro's, and the screws with them are too large to fit through. Any ideas?
Hello everyone. Would anyone with a little time be willing to come over to my thread - http://www.overclock.net/t/1606777/mercury-s8-build-advice-requested-functional-aesthetic-and-a-few-questions - and assist with a few of my queries for finalizing my S8's setup?

Thanks to some help I'm closer than ever, but one major stumbling block is regarding how the S8 is best set up for cooling? I will be using an AIO for my CPU to start and besides that air cooling at least to start - though I configure with the intent for flexibility in the future if I want to add more custom liquid and whatnot. Is the S8 t primarily "front to back" with drawing air in from the front of the case and pulling it through and exhausting it out the back? Top to bottom? Bottom to top? Areas its best to add coverplates? Where to add fans? I get the impression that the case is very flexible and can have its cooling setup in a number of ways that work, so some guidance would be appreciated.

I wrote a ton over there, so any insight on any of my configuration or aesthetic choices would be appreciated, but I guess the first major "barrier" is first of all figuring out the cooling setup (and after that, DEMCiflex filter setup).

Thanks everyone. Hope I can get this sorted and locked in.

Does anyone know if I put in a EK-CoolStream PE 360 (Triple) on top, can I still fit in a EK-CoolStream PE 240 (Dual) in front mounted on the 120.2 flex-bays ?

Yes, it will fit! Even with thicker rads installed on top and without the extended top! I don't have PE rads, I have XSPC RX 360v3, which are 56mm thick installed on top and there is ~405mm between rad and bottom panel (I have the 36mm extended top for fans) but even with fans installed inside, there still is ~385mm left. I know it's slightly off the bottom panel when installed on the flex mount, still plenty of space.
The PE240 is only ~280mm.

EDIT: I'm the 2000th customer, do I win another S8? biggrin.gif
And on a serious note, check this post for some pics. It'll give you a visual idea of just how much space there is. I have a flex mount installed for the upper front 120 slots, but you can use that as a reference.
