so i want to try and start a youtube channel and im trying to record bf4 with fraps and its so ridiculous on ultra without recording i get around 70-85 when recording on medium, high and ultra i hover at 24 fps and below 30. I tried recording on dragon's pass. it could just be that this map is hard to render. oh and my cpu is 3570k and gpu is 670 ftw stock clocks

anyone know any other programs that can record 1080p? geforce shadow play is still in beta so its a lil glitchy

I've been using MSI afterburner for a few years now. Just a month or so ago they added support for 64bit programs and have been using it with BF4 now too. Maybe give it a try and see how you like it.

It indeed has recording options. built in to the overlay feature.Maybe im thinking of the location in another application? However, I know it iss there, and indeed it is updated for 64bit apps.

You can use dxtory as a source for OBS. Record locally and you can get good quality and reasonabl. File sizes. You need codec but I have forgotten which one. Will update when I am off the train.

I too recommend dxtory.

You don't really have to go through all that Dxtory -> OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) fancy stuff. I'm myself using Dxtory with built-in video codec called "YUV420(2x2) - Medium Quality" and it works flawlessly the only thing that kinda sucks is the massive file size when you are done recording. You could use something like Lagarith Lossless Video Codec to achieve even a better quality, but my HDD is not capable of recording at such speeds. Either way Dxtory is way to go in my opinion thumb.gif.

I use OBS to add overlays and other sources. Also Lagarith was the codec.

Yeah the final result would still be in 1080p, no worries. I wouldn't worry too much about Lagarith codec unless the ones already included in Dxtory wouldn't work.
