Very strange. I don't know if it's the power supply, motherboard or something. :|

Based on the fact that the problem initially happened when the computer turned itself off then on again and was later fixed by reseating, restarting, and reinstalling drivers, I would have to guess that something happened with the driver when you turned it off the first time.

Yeah, most likely.

Sorry for asking you, as I am technically derailing the thread, but what kind of power supply would you recommend? I like my GPU, but a future upgrade would be nice. I've read good things from the R9 series, (280x and 290x come to mind) and I might upgrade once prices fall. I was wondering if a Corsair CX600M is enough.

CX600 cuts it a bit close.

PSU's won't last as long if they're pushed hard every day. I'd go for a 700w or higher.

The CX600 is not a bad PSU, but go for higher wattage especially if you plan to OC.

I've had 3 different Corsair units and each has been fantastic. I recommend the TX750 or even 850, get the V2. I've had one for a bit over a year and it works well and is quiet.

I'll play for a whie and post Afterburner's readings soon.

I remove and re-seat my graphics cards every 3 months when I clean my system.
reason is I read with these big heavy graphics cards they tend to drop down a little over time due to their weight and vibration
and this can cause a poor connection with the pci-e slot.
some heavy gpu's come with a support jack/post to hold them up, I seen a AMD with one.
in the past though when ever I had a TDR with my NVidia driver I would re-seat
the graphics cards and no TDR's for about 4 months after that. now that NVidia is getting their drivers back in shape I haven't had a TDR in some time
and I never got them while gaming.

Yeah, I was thinking about the TX series, but I'm a bit worried over them not being modular. Is it good for cable management? I'm having nightmares with mine. Then again, mine's a mid tower, so that explains things.

Really? I didn't know that. I'll be sure to do that whenever I do cleanups. Thanks for letting me know!

Iirc the TX series have modular variants.

If not, the AX modular series is nice too. I recently bought an AX860 for my rebuild.

Definitely agree that a 600W would be cutting it close. I personally have a Cooler Master V series power supply and I love it. The flat cables are pretty great and I believe there is a 700W variant. Also, there is a modular version of the TX series, just look for the M on it. Corsair has some other modular psus as well. The RM series is the newest. The AX series is the flagship series, so it is the most expensive. There is also the HX which is only semi-modular. The cables that aren't modular though are ones that are required for the system to run, so it's not too big of a deal. The TX-M model is the same way. There are other psus out there that would definitely fit your requirements and I would ask around. I'm not personally an expert on them, but I'm sure there are plenty around this site.
