GTX 780 Stable yet Unstable??? - Page 2

uhh interesting. I will stresstest my Gtx 780 tomorrow and see if I run into the same troubles biggrin.gif
But in most cases the Gpu crashes in games more likely. It was the same with my 7950.
Planetside 2 is not so super gpu sensitive. It stresses the cpu and ram alot more. Even 4 gb ram is not enough for this game. Otherwise my Gtx 570 died in Planetside 2 and my old 7950 had a weird graphic bug with holos rolleyes.gif
Just saying.
If you still have issues test the Ram out. It can cause so many crazy errors.

Planetside 2 however, instant crash within 2 minutes. It isn't a stopped working error, but a crazy system freeze and stuff up. I just don't get... even Napoleon Total War has minor freezes when playing, but Metro Last Light, no problem!

WHAT IS HAPPENING LOL!

Different games/applications stress the GPU differently, so an overclock might work fine in one game, but fail in another.

Try lowering your memory and core until everything's stable, then increase one or the other until it becomes unstable again to rule out the overclock being unstable

For me most troublesome benchmark (including games) to pass without any flicker or artifact was 3dmark 11. I had some black flickering triangle appearing in test 2 on 1256 core clock and indeed it crashed after long period of time in games like BF4. Pretty much same thing happened on my R9 290.

1241/1675 is rock stable for me I think, I've tried like 10 demanding games/benchmarks (just added 1h of gameplay in Far Cry 3 to this list) and no crashes or artifacts since few days.

If you are experiencing some instability, revert core or memory to stock just to check one frequency at a time

Sure your CPU is stable? seems to be crashing on more CPU dependant titles.

No problem here, Your post was just funny because I never called FC3 the "ultimate GPU stability test", and you're claiming my experience is "not true" lol.

@HeLeX63 I found that memory OC caused crashes. I'm now at 1,254Mhz on core and stock memory, no more problems in any game/bench.
Even +50Mhz on memory caused crash for me frown.gif
I'll try to push core OC a bit more, just for testing.

Thx for the help. Ill try and just lower the memory clock until its stable.

Cheers! smile.gif

So I stopped at 1,254Mhz core and began to increase memory. I thought that memory caused instability, but I was wrong. Already at +100Mhz memory. Played full round of BF4 without any problem. Max temp 69c with custom fan curve.

Oddly enough, I am running Napoloen Total War and PS2 with 405+ on the memory and stock core clock, and it isn't crashing.
