[Solved] Doing a core upgrade on a Win 7 system, should I wipe and re-install, or upgrade with OS in place?

I've never actually just done a core upgrade, instead always starting from scratch to build a new PC, so I'm wondering if I should wipe my windows drive and re-install the OS with the new hardware in place, of if I should just leave the OS in place and upgrade the system under it?

Thanks.

If you are changing chipset and/or to a newer socket, you will have have to do a fresh install of windows due to drivers. A clean instal is always good as well since you get rid of all the garbage that may have accumulated in your previous instal.
