[OCN] Caselabs announces the Magnum SMA8 - Page 9

The only problem is there is no "Fresh" air coming into the case if you have all them rads.. If it was me the bottom and front rad would be pushing the air out not in.. I want the inside to be cold so the top rad gets the same cool air as the bottom.. Guess the one back fan would be the only one pushing air in lol.

I have zero fresh air going in my case and my temps are unaffected. When all your components are liquid cooled it becomes less and less necessary to have "fresh" air coming in the case, hence SFF builds that are all liquid cooled. All my radiators are exhausted and i have no problem with temps.

Most likely to keep the price down otherwise I wouldn't know. I don't think from going from aluminum to steel will lower the price that much as it's still custom built and made in the US vs China.

Steel cases don't deserve the Caselabs name.

Even Lian Li struggled with this and named the lesser steel cases Lancool for a while.
Now after some time there are a few steel Lian Li's but they all are cheap looking.

Yeah they are awesome for what they are, modular, yet simple cases for huge WC builds with great build quality.
Elegance is certainly not their strong point though, since they have more of an industrial look wich reminds me more of a server rack than something i would want to have in my living room. But thats just personal taste.

I won't say that we won't ever make steel cases... but.... we probably won't ever make steel cases.

Fun little story, though. I met up with some modders back in August. One, Tim (LongestroadTrip) here on OCN, one from Utah, and one from Tennessee. I had only just started working for CaseLabs at that point, and Tim had said he wanted to show off his S3 build. So, off we went back to his place, and the other two guys were so amazed at the S3 that they wanted one (and one of them ONLY aircools his builds). Now, I had never touched an S3 up to this point, but I had owned an M8 a couple of years ago, and I can tell you that the S3 left me more impressed than any other case I had the pleasure of tinkering with before it, and I've owned a LOT of cases.

Bottom line is, you really do get what you pay for. To some, this doesn't matter, to others, it's all that matters.

Not with caselabs. You just buy one*.

My question about CaseLabs is two things:

1. How is build quality better? Especially when you assemble it yourself, that makes it seem of a lower quality. For example, the 900D is one piece of metal shipped in full. If you have to fasten each corner that would just make it seem a little flimsy.

2. Why does the frame have holes in it? I really dislike this look. It makes it look like it is made out of knex.

I have never owned or seen a caselabs case in person though, so maybe someone who has one can explain.
