AM2, AM3 boards on eBay

Its amazing the prices people ask for used boards. Including non-working boards. Like, double and triple what you can get modern AM3+ boards for brand new. Are people that clueless? I also see auctions for say 6300's for $200. 8350's for $300. Is anybody that clueless to pay these rip off prices? Talking auctions in the USA only.

I hope it's not really the case. I could see it being a channel to launder money, but I cant figure out why some stuff sells for the prices it does.

That being said, I have done a couple of server builds with parts mostly off of ebay and I find it to be a great place for deals on commercial hardware. I was just checking out some g34 socket chips, and gigabit switches today. My home network needs some serious upgrading this year I think smile.gif

I have sold stuff on ebay.co.uk and most of what I sell tends to go for a decent price. Just sold a 1055T for £97, which isn't bad considering I paid £120 for it 3 years ago.

Just about to sell a Asus M5A88V-EVO bundled with a Phenom II 955 and 2x2GB OCZ DDR3.... hopefully I'll get a decent price for the bundle.

Last year I sold an old Socket 939 mobo bundled with a processor for a mate was shocked what it went for cos I was expecting it to struggle to sell.
