Yeah. Thats basically what 1440p is. I used 1680x1050 before i for my Dell U2711. Never used 1080p monitor before biggrin.gif. Might go for 5K this time around.

a more curved than the 24" version @ 31.5" 4K = definite purchase... unless a 39" version comes along biggrin.gif

When is ud970 coming out, I am eagerly awaiting. I don't if the current 4k monitors have good quality panels that would be good for gaming.

I hope curved monitors aren't just flat monitors that were curved. Because the optics of a computer image have been designed for flat screens. If you project it on a flat screen that was curved without other changes in density of pixels, you basically get something like a poster, that you folded and the distortion that brings.

just bought the UD590....holy balls is this thing amazing! DEFINITELY worth the $600 price tag.

P.S. im running a gigabyte 770 2GB card with an 8120 oc'd to 4.2Ghz.

BF4: ~30 to 40fps (highest setting without AA)
ESO: ~30 to 35fps (ultra without AA)
GW2: ~20 to 50fps (depends on location)
LoL: 60+ fps
Crysis 3: ~20 to 25fps (ultra without AA)
BioShock Inf: ~35 to 45fps (ultra without AA)

Kidney, have you had any issues with running out of Vram?

I was speculating based on my own numbers with the 590D and 780 Ti, using no AA would allow the 770 to work as well.

Can you post your findings in that thread as well?

I ran 4K recently with 2x 780Tis and determined a 3rd card would be ideal. I could not maintain 60FPS in newer games, and I regularly had dips into ~40FPS. It just doesn't seem worth it to blow that kind of money on a computer to run games at that performance, especially when it's displayed on TN panel.

Personally sticking with 1440p until we get hardware capable of handling 4K better, as well as better 4K panels.

4K can easily use 3GB of VRAM, and will use up to almost 4GB in certain games according to the reviews. That seems a tad high for a single single 2GB 770? What's your VRAM usage at?
