Need help to find a Graphics Card (AMD or Nvidia)

Thread Starter
I just bought a new pc with gtx 760 2gb refrence card, but i was not satisfied. I'm going to send back the 760 and buy a new. (it was running hot too 70-81 degrees Celsius)

Games i play: Battlefield 4, splinter cell blacklist, AC 4, GTA 5 when it's out. (mostly FPS games)

I have been looking at Graphics cards with more then 2gb Vram, like GTX 770 4gb and 2gb, R9 280x R9 290 and GTX 780.
I might not need more then 2gb Vram because i use one monitor for gaming (1920x1080) but it wouldn't hurt biggrin.gif

My budget is max $600-$650 (3800-4000 Norwegian "kroner")

I live in norway so the prices are about 10-25% higher in The USA.

Another question i got:
Will 650W be enough for radeon r9 280x or 290?

My cpu: Intel Core i5-4670K

My PSU: XFX ProSeries Core Edition 650W PSU http://www.komplett.no/xfx-proseries-core-edition-650w-psu/657686

There are at least a few scandehoovians about that may be able to help with pricing advice. Shilka is a Dane, and a PSU master for one.

How big is/are the monitor(s) you want to drive?

the 770's 4gb won't do you a ton of good. There are limitations accessing the second 2gb. Any of the other 3 will work. Whether or not the 290 is a better buy than the 780 depends alot on how popular bitcoin mining is in Norway. if you can get a 290 for msrp (manufacturer's suggested retail price) it's fantastic bang for the buck, but that is hard to find.

I think i might get a radeon R9 290 from gigabyte because it's cheaper then the 780 (about 800 NKR which is $130) but it's also louder and will get hotter.
Do you think i need to get more then 650w for the R9 290?

I change my mind so ofthen so this might not be the card i buy biggrin.gif

The only problem is that gtx 780 and R9 290 non ref is very expensive in Norway
The lowest price Gtx 780 i found has a price of $665 and the R9 290 $620

I might just get a MSI GeForce GTX 770 Gaming 2gb for $390

A 770 is around enough for 1080p, a 780 would be nice but they are a lot more expensive (over here they cost at least £100 more) and only give up to another 10fps max over the 770. I would've liked one myself and was thinking about buying one but I couldn't justify another £100 for an extra 10fps at most.

then buy the r9 290(x) non ref and buy a gelid icy vision rev 2 or an arctic cooling accelero xtreme III
