More people use internet explorer than firefox, and hackers go for the bigger target.

Because FireFox introduced tabs, which makes life good ! (Although IE has them now... Imagine if IE had introduced it, and if Firefox had copied them, all the copyright issues MS would have sued Firefox against...)

Please back up your statements.

Dont take me wrong, I love Firefox, and I am not trying to be an IE fanboy, I just dont like baseless accusations that spread misinformation.

I own both IE and Firefox 2 on my computer since my dad isnt computer savvy so he uses IE. The only good thing I have ever noticed about IE7 was the face that it started up faster than FF. Now that I have a new computer now that isnt a problem. But you can do speed tests yourself to see that FF is faster than IE7 still even. Not only that, its highly customizable in add-ons than IE. The add-ons and skins FF gives you are incredible. IE doesnt have hardly any good skins or like any add-ons. I'm not saying that IE7 is that bad. It's just that when it comes down to it you can customize FF much better than IE7. It's like saying which is better in terms of CPU's. An E6300 or an X2 4400. Stock, they compete very good. But when "overclocked" a C2D is better. Same goes for FF and IE. At stock they perform close but when you "overclock" firefox in terms of adding things on to it it performs better. So if your a person who doesnt overclock your browser in terms of features then IE7 is just fine. But if you like to be able to see your 5 day forecast, use Flash get, and loads of other features FF really only makes sense. Not to mention its still faster than IE7

well i have IE7 and Firefox 2.0.1 and i have to say that firefox is so much better.

its faster at loading, has all the cool add-ons and also is more secure.

i mean IE7 looks alright, but a reskinned firefox looks so much nicer

firefox is faster and more secure. it has more options and the extensions/themes are great.

i had aol forever and i used it, then i got cable and had heard about firefox on the screensavers, as soon as i got cable i opened up IE and downloaded FF. the only time i use IE now is at school and to download windows updates.

All I've really heard so far are opinions with no actual fact.
Personally I think it's just emotional opinion and users trying to seem smart using FireFox as scapegoat for their incompitence in staying safe, although it's not that bloody hard.

I have not much against FireFox, but all in all I prefer Flashpeak's Slimbrowser add-on to IE a lot more. It feels a lot easier and more comfortable to use, looks better in my opinion, and is just as secure. It gives you all the features that FireFox has as well as fixes a lot of the security problems.

The reason for a lot of the hate towards IE6 and lower is due to aesthetics and features it doesn't have compared to FireFox, but it is indeed cumbersome due to a few factors: IE is integrated with Windows - as you might of guessed because of it being the same program used for file browsing and other OS-related programs - therefore making it a big security vulnerability as well as slow due to features such as ActiveX and processes it must go through with the OS.

i just dont like it. i have to use it at work and its just cumbersome to me. does ie7 have a bookmarks toolbar? or do i have to screw around in a favorites menu to click on my favorite sites.

and download firefox, search through the extensions for about 30-45 minutes just downloading ones that you think will be cool. use it for about 2 days and then go back to IE.

i personally love the all in one gestures extension. it allows you to hold down right click and draw stuff on the screen to do a certain action i.e. reload, new tab, close tab, switch tabs etc... havent seen anything like that for IE
