Hi all thought id say Gday, been looking at this site for a while thought i'd finally join as ill be building my new rig next week all things going well and i may need some advice, went pretty wild on the system to future proof the rig, And planning to do a bit of CAD latter in the year. System is as follows
Asus Sabertooth z79
Intel4930K
Vengeance 4x4G
Asus GTX780 Ti
CoolerMaster V850
Coolermaster Nepton 280L cooler
Coolermaster 690III case
Samsung 840 Pro SSD

SO hopefully should be a pretty sweet rig, just need to save up for a new screen now wink.gif

Why go x79 if you will only be using on GPU? I don't think a little CAD will use the 6 core efficiently...

Welcome to OCN and check out my sig for a way to get an OS for free.

A Q6600 is far better cpu to use and is fine even for most games to this day and age compared to a dual core version. So yes, there is some truth to it. Future proofing just means the system will be a little less anemic later on, it doesn't mean it will continue to be #1 wink.gif

System looks great

Down, Unless you are on carpet. If you are on carpet though, I recommend you put a wooden board underneath the PC and still face the powersupply fan down.
