I'm building my first gaming rig and I need help with the RAM. So far, I have all components except the RAM, such as...
1) Intel core i7-4770K
2) ASUS Maximus VI Hero
3) EVGA GeForce GTX 780 w/ ACX Superclocked (2784- model #)

What I wanted to know, is what if faster, and/or better out of these two I'm listing?...

1) Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8) 1866 CAS 9, timings 9-10-9-27

2) Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2x8) 1600 CAS 9, timings 9-9-9-24

I'm fairly new to these types of components (what I mean is timings, CAS, and what not), so I'm not tech savvy with this. What is your guys' opinion of these? All I know is that the lower the CAS latency, the faster... I think, right?

I'd really appreciate your help. Thanks smile.gif

Generally, you want the highest possible frequency with minimal possible timings and voltage. On this basis, the 1866C9 is the better of the two.

However, it need not be the best purchase in the <$200 price range. If Corsair is not a must, then Team Group and G.Skill offer better 2x8Gb options for the money, take their DDR3-2400 kits as an example.
