Does anyone know when the NDA lifts for Kaveri? Too many conflicting leaks for me.

about 13% gain OC vs OC vs Trinity

It will be lower versus Richland

The Luxmark GPU-biased result isn't surprising since they're using 512 GCN shaders instead of 384 VLIW , even if it was 512 VLIW it should be +35% or so

This is the important one, Floating point compute ,with > 2X gains (maybe due to doubled decoders on front end):

I still thing those 512 GCN core need way more memory bandwidth.

AlphaC, those last two you show are both Opencl so it's showing gpu improvement, not cpu. hUMA might also have a bit to do with the huge improvement in those benches.

Looking at the Game benchmarks it looks nice. Still wish they made a R9 Version

I cant wait to see what the 7850 will crossfire with. I want to put a new rig together with the 7850 and the best GPU it works with and see what kind of numbers I can get underwater.

Are you sure you want the best gpu it can crossfire with because you might be buying too much power for what you need. (since it might hybrid CF with the 290(x) as they are also GCN1.1(yes that is our own naming but it is shorter to say that GCN refresh) supporting XDMA)

Well I certainly dont need any of it, but I would like to see what kind of numbers an optimally cooled and OCed Kaveri setup would put out. If/When I put something together this year I would take a close look at the diminishing returns of any GPU I might put with this APU. Im not made of money, but I am excited for what AMD is doing with these APUs.

I have a few builds I am doing over the next 18 months for myself and some family members. I need a new server, a new gaming rig, 1 build for a friend, and 2 more for my girls, but they may get laptops. If I end up doing this Kaveri xfire underwater build just to see how it all can OC, then I will probably disassemble the system and put it in another case and send it off to a good home as a stand alone APU with a regular air cooler. So in that sense, the GPU wont go to waste, regardless of whichever one I end up buying

For now though I am working on getting some nice Rads, and a case for my new build. By the time June or July rolls around I am hoping that there is proper driver support for Kaveri, and any initial bugs in the platform are worked out so I can give it a go. If by the time I am ready to try this out, if all reviews say its buggy and it sucks, then Ill find something else to waste my time and money on. I was an early adopter for Trinity, and it took a good 2 months for proper driver support. I wont be rushing in this round.
