My RIVE OC became unstable after updating BIOS from 4206 to 4802

Hello everyone,

My PC have had a stable OC for a full year now. every time a new BIOS get released I update my RIVE and re-enter my OC settings.

However today I updated my PC from BIOS v4206 to v4802, and i re-entered my old OC settings. But my PC won't boot at all. I cleared the CMOS and kept trying new OC settings but to no use. I can overclock my CPU no problem. but whenever i try to OC my RAM my PC would not boot at all. Even the smallest OC change to my RAM will make my RIVE unbootable.

So i had no choice but to roll back to 4206.

These are my PC specs:-
CPU:- 3930k
RAM:- Corsair Domenators GT 16GB - 4GBX4 @ 2133MHz @ 9-11-10-27 @ 1.5V

These are my OC settings that i have been running for a full year with no problems:-
**Attention:- Any settings that are not mentioned here are set to their default settings (Auto).

CPU:- 4500Mhz
RAM:- 2400MHz

Ai Overclock Tuner: Manual
BCLK Frequency: 100.000
Turbo Ratio: By All Cores @ 45
CPU Clock Gen Filter: Auto
Memory Frequency: 2400MHz

DRAM Timing Control:
Rampage Tweak: Mode 2.
Primary Timings:- 10-12-11-38-1.
Secondary Timings:- All on Auto.
Third Timings:- All on Auto.

Digi+ Power Control:-
VCore Load-Line Calibration:- High
CPU Current Capability:- 140%
CPU Power Duty Control:- Extream

VCCSA Load-Line Calibration:- Regular
VCCSA Current Capability:- 140%

CPU VTT Switching Freq:- 1.3x

DRAM-AB/CD Current Capability:- 140%
DRAM-AB/CD Power Phase Control: Extream

PCH 1.1v Switching Freq: 1.3x

CPU Voltage:- 1.35v
VTT CPU Voltage:- 1.35v
CPU VCCSA Voltage:- 1.35v
DRAM Voltage (CHA, CHB & CHC, CHD):- 1.68V
CPU PLL Voltage:- 1.8875V

So here is my question, Why is the new BIOS making my OC unstable? am i doing something wrong? am i missing something? Has anyone experienced something like this before?

BTW I have tried every BIOS after 4206 and they all make my PC OC unstable.

I think the newer UEFI versions are tweaked for Ivy Bridge-E, which possibly means they aren't the best for Sandy Bridge-E.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I was hoping to see if someone has the same hardware as me and see whether they have the same problem or not.

ooh well, I guess I will just have to stay at 4206.

Thanks smile.gif
