Advice on tightening timings

Thread Starter
Long story short, I bought some 2400mhz ram for a Kaveri steambox but changed my mind to an Core i3 build with an H87 itx board.

Since I won't be able to use the 2400mhz with the i3, what timings can I get with running it at 1600 mhz and how do I go about doing that? Should I drop the voltage down to 1.5v as well?

Memory details are:
  • DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200)
  • Timing 11-13-13-31
  • Cas Latency 11
  • Voltage 1.65V

I don't want perfection, just some ideas on what will likely easily work and remain stable.

For 1600mhz try 8-8-8-24 1.5v wink.gif

Most 2400C11 rated kits will be based on Hynix. And Hynix of such bin can run DDR3-1600 either at 7-8-7-24 with 1.60-1.65V or at 8-8-8-24 with 1.45-1.50V.
