Umm maybe because I have one 7950 in a board thats designed for ati?

Anyways, Im just trying to let people here know about since nobody ever talks about it. Its an awesome board.

I just (got it today) bought a P5B Deluxe. I think I may have to agree that the Bad Axe 2 is a better board (or even the P5W). This is because the massive overclocking found in the P5B is nullified by the NB latencies.

And now we know how insignificant FSB is compared to NB latencies. 975X FTW

Dumb thing to say. I agree 975x has certainly found it's usefulness.

I was pretty sure that people thought the BadAxe2 was a great board, anyhow. There are just a lot of people who like the extra features of the ASUS boards, or the affordability of Gigabyte's board. I dont think anyone came out and said the BA2 was bad. Congrats to ya for having a nice board.

Equally dumb response. If people want single gpu overclocking, they go with a 965 chipset. the asus p5b deluxe is the board that sets all the FSB records. Even the new asus 680i boards handily beat FSB overclocks on the 975x chipset boards. (Mind you I have seen the bad axe 2 hit 485 FSB which is pretty decent) .And in case you assume I am speculating, I had an Asus P5W DH Deluxe for several months before upgrading to first the evga and now the asus 680i boards.

A 965P at high FSB is not faster than a 975X at low FSB.

You are referring to super pi or orthos I assume? I know for a fact that my p5w dh with sli'd 7900gtx was behind in benches compared to my 680i board with both at stock. Admittedly the sli on the p5w was using older modded drivers. I don't have a p5b Dlx to draw comparisons but then again it won't support sli so wouldn't be apples to apples.

I don't really hold super pi in much regard as my machine is used for gaming. In fact I don't even run it. It's doesn't reflect any applications I actually use on my computer and as such is pointless.
