What command rate does XMP set?

Also you may never get 2400 on IB.

ive tried it at 133 and 100. i actually just set it to auto and was able to boot at 2200MHz. i guess the 200MHz isnt that big a deal.

My board is a little useless with fast RAM (or I'm stupid). That's because of the "tertiary" timings I think. Those are settings that aren't in the XMP profile. They are set too aggressive by default. There's also a setting that has a name that doesn't say much, just "performance enhance". That setting will additionally try to tweak the tertiary timings and I have to disable it when playing around with timings and speed.

Your board might have similar things going on.

no i dont have that setting.
But you have the tertiary timings. Primary are those (example) 11-13-13-31 you usually see mentioned about RAM. Secondary are all the other timings in the XMP profile that you never see mentioned anywhere in the documentation. Tertiary is everything that comes after that and not in the XMP profile.

For those timings, my board's BIOS uses 1 in various places that should really better be 3. Then it uses 3 in some places that should probably better be 4, 5 or 6 etc. You might find a screenshot of a software like that asrock "timing configurator" or "MemTweakIt" that shows what people are using when running their RAM on Z77 at 2400 speeds.

I have no idea about voltages for the CPU (things like VTT and stuff). Those might do something important.

yeah i have all of those settings a program was recommended on another site to pull all the stored information right the ram. i forget the name maybe rammon or something i believe the print out may have said futuremark on it too so they might have something to do with it. i have tried setting everything manually and you, said the auto would be 1 or 2 off. i did just notice the command rate is supposed to be at 0T and is auto set tp 2T and it will not let me set it at 0. i have tried otmat the auot 2 and at 1 but neither seem to fix issues. so right now i am stable at 2200 MHz but just cant get to the rated 2400 MHz
