i7 920 Help A Chump Overclock His CPU (Chapter II) - Page 2

Alright, I've swapped the RAM sticks, we both ran Prime95 and Linx. Every setting was Stock

 

He passed with my sticks ; whereas, I still failed with his...

The same CPU# is stopping work after a Fatal Error in Prime95.

 

This was enough in leading me to believe that my Memory is in tip-top shape.

 

The problem lies elsewhere ; but where? CPU? worriedsmiley.gif

Maybe it's the OS? 

 

Edit: I searched for answers and decided to continue by disregarding Prime95 results after this post in another thread I opened to specifically discuss this problem.

What happens if you run Prime95 with stock clocks at 1.3v Vcore? If this fails then maybe it really is a hardware problem (CPU/Mobo).

your computer was running fine before the playing around with the bios setting - yes!

then not hardware related - reset cmos and set bios to default and start again thumb.gif
