My 780 was stable @1189MHz through everything except for FFXIV benchmark. I scratched all those results and did the tests again at the clocks that were actually stable for all of my tests. And I'm not a professional tech journalist with all the included responsibilities towards the public.

Yeah it is bad as a review but it is one more article proving da powah of the Tri-X. I'll be getting one of those myself next week hopefully.

200mhz overclock is astounding? Cards are beastly but the OC is nothing special.

What on earth are these people smoking?

Should you overclock your SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 290X Tri-X GPUs? Well, that's a hard question - we aren't seeing huge improvements on our benchmarks, unless you're really pushing the cards. Our Metro: Last Light numbers are impressive, with it being the standout game for the overclocking argument.

4.5 fps to 7 isn't going to make the experience that much more playable. The card is clearly not capable of running Metro at those settings and at that resolution playably, neither are 2 - unless you don't mind having really poor performance. How on earth is that "impressive" or "standout"?

Maybe because at such resolution even 0.97fps counts?

Why they dont bench the game with the optimal settings to get 60fps.This is a pointless review

No card is capable at 4K + 4X SSAA, but at least they pushed their card to the limits, not with useless FXAA mode rolleyes.gif

Don't know if it is the new platform or AMD's lack of crossfire bridge. Crossfire scaling on 290/290x does seem to murder GK110 based on reviews during the last few months.
