Extremely slow write speeds Kingston 120gb.

Thread Starter
Hello,

Since i purchased this kingston ssd, it has always been slow.
i even updated everything inside my pc, and it's still the same.

What i can say:

- Yes it is in the right sata port.
- Yes all the drivers are up to date
- Yes my motherboard is up to date
- Yes my bios is up to date

Write speeds about : 90-100mb/sec
Read speeds about: 170-180mb/sec
(according to AS ssd benchmark)

So basically my conclusion is that this ssd is just slow. Not broken, but slow.
Could this even be possible? I know people with the same ssd having around 300-350 write speeds.

Exact name of the ssd:

Kingston SSDNow V300 SV300S37A/120G, 120 GB SSD

( yes it was quite cheap, only 72 euro which is roughly 97 dollar)

To be honest, I was too lazy to send it back in the first place,
Since i thought it was bull**** it was broken. Because my first guess would be IF it is broken.
it shouldn't work at all.

So if anyone knows what i should do to make it faster, please give a reply.

Thanks,

nelly. rolleyes.gif

Sorry , i already see in a other topic that a lot of people have the same speeds as me with this particular ssd drive.
Thanks anyway.

Benchmark with ATTO benchmark and you will see advertized speeds.

Having the same issue with my new HyperX. Read speeds are about 100MBs slow and write are about half what they should be.

That was with as ssd and crystal disk mark. Is that normal? I will give ATTO a try.

The 128GB HyperX was to replace a 64GB M4, now I am kind of regretting the decision because I was under the impression that the HyperX was going to be faster. mad.gif

Yeah, after doing the ATTO check it looked good, I guess I just figured I'd have a little better reads than the M4, but I didn't research it much.

For what its worth it is better than mine, I just installed it today. I have a Kingston Hyperx sk 120gb.

I have a question though are you guys performing the test while you are on the SSD, and with windows installed and running?

No for me. My Samsung is my OS drive. The two Kingstons are for data and games.
