I can not believe the level Asus has dropped to, I will never buy another one of their products again.... To send you a picture of that scratch to justify not repairing board is basically just spitting in your face and saying we are the big bad company what are you going to do about it!!!

Well that about settles it for me. I was sort of on the fence after hearing all these stories recently about their ****ty RMA practices. There is a load of threads over at HardOCP with similar stories. Sorry to hear about your loss. I can understand you're anger and frustration, after all they did cheat you out of your replacement part. If it's any consolation to you, remember that sharing these stories does have an effect on there bottom line. Word is spreading and people will begin to move towards competing brands.

You went into the RMA already wary because of the horror stories, yet you didn't take photos of the board before shipping it?

And those scratches, careless installation of expansion cards.

I have no idea about the scratches. Not even sure they are from me, but even if they were in no way are they responsible for the board being unresponsive. Matter of fact those scratches are so minor it's a joke they are even trying to make an issue with them. They only serve as a technicality for ASUS to deny me warranty. The bozo's never even bothered to diagnose the board and investigate the real reason behind it's failure.

As for taking photo's, would have loved to take them, too bad I don't have a digital camera. However, that will be rectified this summer when I buy a Galaxy S5. It may seem as if I was fully aware of the RMA issues with ASUS, but the truth of the matter is I was only moderately aware and not until I was denied RMA did I fully investigate the real extent of the problem people were having with ASUS.

At the end of the day I have learned a valuable lesson. Avoid ASUS and always document with pictures prior to sending any item of for RMA. I must note, it's rather disturbing that it has come to the point now with ASUS where we the customers feel it necessary to photograph EVERY step of the RMA process believing (justifiably so) that failure to do so will result in a denial of our claims. It's unacceptable that I should have to take such precautionary steps to ensure my claim.

i have an asus board
i took a video of its first unboxing and high resolution pictures of both sides of the motherboard
ifi had to rma i would take another right before i sent it out as proof that it want a user fault

Well since they are playing dirty i would to. Find some pics of your board online or get someone to take one on here and email it to you. Tell asus you have photos of your own that differ to theirs and you want a refund/ replacement immediately because they damaged your board.

Or as someone else said pay for it and stop payment the next day.
