PC turns on randomly

Thread Starter
I live in a basicly 1 room apartment, the living room where my PC is located only has a 1/2 wall separating my bedroom. Every night random times, my PC will turn it self on and scare me 1/2 to death in my sleep because this motherboards sound card makes a loud pop when it first turns on though the speakers... Ive started fliping the PSU switch to stop this but thats also anoying.

I want to know how to stop my PC from turning on, on its own.

Programs can schedule the PC waking up. You can configure if Windows will ignore that or not in the settings for the power plan you are currently using. It's under "Sleep".

You should also google for how to see which programs set the wake timer. There's a command line program that can display that in Windows. I just looked at "powercfg /?", and it seems these two commands might be interesting for you:

powercfg /lastwake

and

powercfg /waketimers
