Computer Build

Do you guys think this is a good budget computer? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2A32V

I would get a cheaper case and add a SSD on to the build when you can. The Samsung 840 is a gread SSD. Also, get a better a pair of memory stick. Seriously though, use an old case and get a better one later on or use the one below. Also, I would dump more money into the Graphics card. I would swap your motherboard for the one below to save a little bit of a money. I am guessing you will game with this computer. So that's what I geared it for. If you can, dump more money into the graphics card and get the 780 or 290x. It will go a lot further. Will you overclock the CPU, if not do not get a K series. it won't do much for you.

What do you plan on doing with this build? I would get better ram and motherboard find a case used somewhere ebay/craigslist and try to find a gold standard psu like this one that I have in my build. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00918MEZG/?tag=pcpapi-20

AMD's 200 series is great for budget builds or if you want to be close to nividia's 780s go get a r9 290 (wait for the prices to drop down though)

If you live near a microcenter you also might be able to get your processor for much cheaper.

This is a little bit more expensive and I haven't added the case to it yet either, because i'd look for one used if I had a budget. You can also save some money by removing the 16GB of ram, but it is really good ram. Also SSDs are unnecessary and way over priced.

I would disagree with this. I have an 3570k Overclocked to 4.5ghz, overclocked with an Hyper 212 evo, worth every dollar. I watched My fps on BF3, settings, ultra. I have seen 62-72fps during gameplay when overclocked. My HD 7870 is oc'ed to 1.1ghz. You can find one like this for $200 dollars.Same some money and find buy a 3570k.

You could dump that money into a 7870ghz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504

These are out of stock, but i build a friends computer with this, and a sandy bridge processor, and it runs just fine.

Some say that XFX has horrible customer support and the fan shroud warps. however read the reviews and see what you want.

Bad power supply... Cant really go cheap on that, unless you want broken components. Wont take long for someone else to chime in to say the same.

Definitely need a new CPU cooler. Hyper 212 is a great starter.

As stated already, get a better power supply. 550W is a good amount.

XFX does have pretty bad support but when you get it they can be helpful
