ditch my 780 ti in a few months for maxwell or ... need opinions - Page 2

Yup, just give it time is all, however the Ti came out at the end of a cycle so it was expected to hear something about the next series soon

I usually sell my GPUs around 2 months before launch if it's a single card. If dual then I'd sell one of them exactly a month before launch and the other for 15-25% less a month after launch, with higher end cards you don't lose all that much from your initial purchase price.

If you're content with the performance @ 1080p I'd let the card sit as an investment for at least one cycle if not two. I usually skip every other series for nividia, AMD plays different sometimes.

Everything you've heard about Maxwell specs to this point is rumors including the supposed release date for big Maxwell in Fall 2014.

Big Fermi was the gtx 480 and was released in March 2010 while not being the full chip.
The full big Fermi, the gtx 580 was release in November 2010.

Titan was the first big Kepler release in Feb 2013 and wasn't the full chip.
780 Ti is the big Kepler full chip released in November 2013.

So that's 3 years in between releases for the full chip from each generation.

Now there will most likely be a mid-range chip that can slightly outgun the 780 Ti being released before the actual Maxwell big chip. But the full potential of Maxwell is a long ways away.

yea what im getting at is if the 780ti is selling for $700+ on ebay, and the one that slightly outguns it gets released for say, $549.99 mine would immediately plummet in price. i'd rather sell it before the new one comes out.
