OCing and Virtualization

Thread Starter
I'm fairly new to overclocking; however, I've been running a nice stable 500mhz oc for a couple weeks now. At this point I'm convinced it's stable...haven't had a single hickup since I got it stable. One of the things i disabled in the bios when i started ocing was virtualization on the recommendation of various threads and posts. I would like to now re-enable it to start messing around with all my operating systems again. Any harm in re-enabling it and is there anything I should be looking out for if i do:)?

My config is as follows:
cpu- fx8350
mobo- gigabyte 990fxa-ud3
ram- corsair vengeance 8gb kit @1600mhz
gpu- saphire r9-280x vapor-x
cooler- cooler master v8 air cooler (the original one not the new one)

Currently the cpu is at 4520mhz....up from 4000mhz base clock....had to increase voltage very little and llc is at the second highest setting (no way to disable on my revision of the board). If I can provide any more information to help out just let me know. Thanks!smile.gif

It shouldn't be a problem. Re-enable it, do the obligatory Prime95 stress tests, if you see any crashing relating to the CPU at any stage, either back the clock speed down, give it more volts, or disable virtualization. You should be ok though, but let me know how you go. In two FX-8320 builds w/ OC, I've never had problems with it.

I have virtualization enabled as well with my overclock, I'm 99% sure it doesn't affect your overclock negatively.
