Typical Asus on AMD side, two steps forward one back. Shakes head.

Looks like every vendor that has a stake in Nvidia it seems.

MSi, Gigabyte both seem to have simply copy-pasted their coolers as well (daft since the GK110 die is bigger and less power hungry at stock clocks). The R9-290X Lightning supposedly lost two 8mm "superpipes" in exchange for more fin area and a taller fin stack according to the MSI rep at CES 2014.

taem wrote that MSI dropped VRM temp sensors on their R9 290 gaming... http://www.overclock.net/t/1453703/vr-zone-msi-launches-r9-290-and-r9-290x-gaming-4g-video-cards/80#post_21574698

but someone on OCUK found that there is VRM temps on theirs so I don't know http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=25656705&postcount=90

What's so special about the VRMs on that card that they don't get tested?
