[Various] AMD Kaveri A10-7850K (7700K, 7600) reviews - Page 24

Also have to consider what 6800K does over the AMd "stated". If I'm correct multiple people have gotten 7750's to work in crossfire with the 6800K? Even though AMD says it doesn't support this good of a card!

Soooo maybe 7850k WILL work fine with R9's but AMD won't "support" it for working?

Also,
if R7 250 is the best card what would that give us? Anyone know what R7 250X2 crossfired equals? R9 270 maybe?

AMD should really consider a 45W or 55W part by just making a A8-7600 with 512SP rather than 384 that way they'll make an even more killer part. Kaveri is even more fun to me than smearing a little girl with guts. AHHH YEAH! (Click to show)

NAh penitum is to weak... get Athlon x4 750k + 7790 really great combo

I did check Microcenter, but Newegg is only $10 more. Amazon has it too but they weren't making any promises to ship the CPU out sooner than a few weeks and 1-2 months for the motherboard I wanted with it. Newegg was also offering 10% off of the motherboard I wanted which evened the price out. The net effect is that I'll get it for the same price as elsewhere and faster.

There is always some early adopter tax, but the whole thing is coming out of my entertainment budget anyway.

The 290 and 290x are "GCN 1.1" and support XDMA so it wouldn't be that strange.
AMD's tech day event showed a R9 290x running in dual graphics with a Kaveri.
If the R9 290x was a dedicated gpu it would just be running on a Kaveri system not running dual graphics so it is either hybrid CF or some physics rendering on Kaveri.

Another possible thing might be that Mantle makes load balancing possible on asymmetric configs potentially making it possible to CF any GCN gpu.

Tigerdirect has had it for $179.99 well before Newegg had it listed. In addition, they are willing to price match Amazon... Retailers are only able to get away with asking for above MSRP because individuals like yourself are willing to pay a premium for no reason whatsoever...

This is an odd post, I'm not sure what the point is, what your saying is an obvious statement, as obviously most here understand how competition works.. Also AMD being uncompetitive is not something me or anyone else wants, from Bulldozer, to price hike on FX 9590 to overpriced Kaveri, when do people stop supporting inferior products. Nobody wants this, we want a competitive AMD. Everything lately apart from GPU only parts has been meh. Simply saying well if AMD weren't around prices would be worse, doesn't quantify poor products or overpricing from AMD. Common sense is needed. Kaveri just isn't very good. Hopefully AMD have something better coming, if this is it, for all of 2014... Eek..

As stated a few times by others and myself. A dual core Haswell and dedicated GPU, is the far superior setup at similar price point.

How many more disappointing processor based releases can AMD survive at this point?
