If you are building a smaller rig more suited to a lower tdp CPU, or would like a better upgrade path go pentium.

If you think a pentium can run WoW properly, try raiding on one. An i5-4670k is probably the optimal cpu for it but failing that, any unlocked/overclockable contemporary processor will perform better when the going gets tough there (25man raiding/open world bosses) than a low running 2 thread lock down CPU.

Kaveri was never aimed at high end, it is a low power mainstream chip, looking through lots of tables of benches in the reviews and noticed just how well the fx8350 does considering its cost, kaveri is not meant to replace these and amd haven't stopped selling the fx8350 or any other fx. Does it make me want to upgrade from my sig, no, not at the moment, an r9 270 looks more appealing right now.

Either way, im only going to play in 720p on a laptop screen, and all i need is some CAS9 8GB ram to make things run smooth.

But the way these benchmarks are showing the little improvements Kaveri is giving us over trinity richland...well isnt really making me want to upgrade frown.gif
That is not a bad idea actually for mobile the improvement lies in the clockspeed bump as you will get the IPC improvements + 0,6GHz of clockspeed gains or so. not to mention the major gains on the gpu side as long as you use high speed memory.

Yeah I'm sure early batch consoles had nothing to do with it. Making profits and moving into profability is good AMD is on the good way. Actually the way they would've gone if Intel didn't play dirty back in the days but on the other hand AMD first licensed Intel then copied Intel in the earliest days both have done some shady things.

AMD will cut price soon

how very typical. typical disappointing, underwhelming, delayed feature/functionality that promises a better tomorrow without addressing the core issue, the performance of cpu core itself AMD release, typical responses (from those with "pro" and "con" viewpoints alike), just so typical. boring stuff. look at me being all typical. ok then, that's probably enough.

Yeah it isn't that much better but we did actually expect this and even the fanboys were screaming it:

You think the A10-7850k will run WOW fine?

4670K pulls around 8.1 in 11.5 overclocked. That's about a 62% difference then a 5ghz Kaveri

Thats fine but it loses out to a I3 in alot of cases. The chips saving grace is the fact its great for really small no GPU systems
