[Various] AMD Kaveri A10-7850K (7700K, 7600) reviews - Page 10

Has any site benchmarked the A10-7850K with a Radeon HD 7750 GDDR5, preferably downclocked from 800 to 720 Mhz, just to get an idea how much the memory bandwidth is bottlenecking the built-in GPU ?

It's unrealistic to expect better overall performance and competitive pricing from a new piece of silicon? That's news to me.....rolleyes.gif

Are expectations to be adjusted just because it's AMD?

Exactly. I'm seeing the A10-7850K trade blows with the A10-6800K on many occasions while costing more. Sure, it has a lot of untapped potential with its added features, question is how long until we get to actually benefit from them.

No, apparently only in a month's time, or sometime during Q1 was also quoted.

Why not? All integrated graphics are tested at the same settings. Once memory speed increases, both Intel and AMD solutions will scale similarly. Just remember that I am using 1600MHz.....but at relatively tight timings.

The upcoming test system refresh will use 1866MHz memory but slightly looser timings.

No. In a month or so.

I guess one out of five ain't bad, right? biggrin.gif

Why don't you update straight to 2133 Mhz ? Both current Intel and AMD solutions can handle that speed. Unless you're also trying to bench older offerings like SB and Llano, in which case 1866 Mhz is probably best. Graphics benefit more from speed than from tight memory timings though.

I saw this thread in the news section and i said "YEA!! Kaveri benchmarks are finally out". Then after opening the thread I saw the OP's name and I quickly came to the conclusion that it was another disappoint by amd.

Sure. But again, Mantle will only be initially available in a single game (BF4). Not sure how representative that will be of long-term performance. Even AMD seems to disagree with their own info. Their new demo boasts a 3x increase in performance over DX. The latest info they gave from BF4 state 35-45%.

It is to retain compatibility with other, older platforms. Plus, I don't want to have to mess around with memory dividers in every review.

Does anyone see this thing as being for sale anywhere? The closest I've seen so far is Amazon who will happily take your money if you wait 3-6 weeks for delivery.
