I like how everyone is giving their pieces of professional advice here for AMD biggrin.gif

Also Anandtech apparantly recommends Kaveri as something you could give to your grandparents that don't mind low FPS biggrin.gif

So when Intel launched Haswell with it's 5% - 10% performance improvements to it's already high IPC, along with massively improved power consumption at the same price points Intel was slated..

Now here comes AMD with a chip that's barley faster than it's previous 2 gens of APU, costs 40% more and performs ~10% (That's going by official slides btw, so prob less real world perf) and people are praising AMD, that just proves that people are brand biased and very very fickle.. Kaveri is very underwhelming, technically years behind Intel and relying on software that isn't ready yet to help improve performance as the architecture is so lackluster..

Yup I'll be holding out for 14nm Intel chips, low power, excellent performance.. AMD are so far behind that it's not even a race anymore.

For anyone looking at a budget build, a dual core Haswell plus dedicated GPU with DDR5 makes way way way more sense.. 1150 is a platform with a lot of future options as well..

A very large Meh for Kaveri..

Since the discussion here is going nowhere and the article in the OP is just an overview about the recently released Kaveri 7850K chip I'm locking this.

You can discuss Kaveri launch articles (that include all the info found in the article the OP posted) in our reviews thread that can be found here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1459045/various-amd-kaveri-a10-7850k-7700k-7600-reviews
